Garett Arrowood completed his undergraduate degree in jazz studies at Northern Illinois University after studying classical performance and music education at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Mr. Arrowood went on to earn a Masters of Music in jazz studies and an Artist Diploma in classical performance from the University of Miami Florida.
While residing in South Florida, Garett Arrowood performed with the New World Symphony, Florida Grand Opera, The Symphony of America and other regional pops and chamber orchestras. Through his career, Mr. Arrowood has played along side such jazz artists as Arturo Sandoval, John Clayton, Ingrid Jensen, David Liebman, Dave Koz, Conrad Herwig and many more. He has also performed in touring Broadway productions of A Chorus Line, Mary Poppins and Wonderful Town on tenor trombone, bass trombone and tuba.
Garett has worked with big bands, chamber ensembles, jazz combos, concert bands, salsa bands, and brass choirs across the United States and currently is one of three band directors at The Lovett School in Atlanta, GA. At Lovett, he works with band students from 4th to 12th grade, guiding them toward an understanding and appreciation of music. Since moving to Atlanta, Garett has performed along side the Georgia Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Orchestra Atlanta, the Georgia Brass Band, Willie Ziavino and the C.O.T. band, the Ludwig Symphony Orchestra, the Moment's Notice Big Band, The Beltline Brass Quintet, Joe Gransdens Big Band, and many other chamber orchestras, jazz and salsa bands throughout the city. |
