I have been playing the trombone for 30 years, since high school. In that time I have played with brass bands, big bands, rock bands, orchestras etc etc.
I returned to serious music in 2003 when I retrained from being an economist to taking a degree in music, this eventually led to a BMus (Hons) in composition and ATCL(dist) on trombone.
Since graduating I have been developing my teaching programme in Hamilton, trading as Top Note, and Top Note supplies Ltd. I am the director of instrumental ensembles at Southwell School (preporatory) where I direct the jazz band and both orchestras. I also teach all the brass students. I am also the brass teacher and band director at Hukanui Primary School.
I continue to perform and am the principal trombonist with the Trust Waikato Symphony Orchestra, I also play for various schools productions, and almost anywhere that needs a trombonist. |
